Personal refelections on The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

After watching The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, i was feeling alot abt the movie. I felt I'm like the character Peter. For me, there's always a past that is ever glorious.

Victories upon victories on battle against my fleshly nature & roaring with Christ during my walk in the earlier days. However, that was when I'm a "babe" in Christ just like Narnia Part 1, when Peter are still young in age. Able to trust in God more due to the realm of protection being a teenage kid.

However, when we are older in Christ, our hearts are being drawn away by the cares of the world but still trying to convince ourself that we are full of faith & the HolySpirit like before. Which every fight we had against sins is mostly a losing battle. This scene is similar to Narnia Part 2 when Peter is fighting in the subway. He thought to himself that he is still the valiant king he used to be in Narnia. But the fact that he has already lost the old ways of finding his oldself.

That's why we keep having this saying, coming back to the heart of worship, back to the basics of christian foundation. It is really necessary and essential for all christian to keep their faith in God.

Moving on with the movie..
The horn summoning them back to Narnia are the chances of repentance or rededication, which could be found anywhere & everywhere when we enter the presence of God.

The story that struck me is that when they return to Narnia, the place is in a dead state or wreck condition. Animals couldn't talk & trees could not dance.
It's like when we are on the way back to repentance, God will always bring us back to the starting point where we fall or to start over again.

Talking abt it, i remembered the first time i heard this is when im having personal BS with Pst Aries. He mention that our walk is like a stairs, levels and levels of obstacles to climb over, but there's also a period of flat ground. If we walked the flat ground for a long time, that means our walk with God starts to get no where.. The only way is constantly moving up. So when we failed to overcome the obstacles at that step of the stairs, we'll need to go back to the start point of that steps to climb all over again. Ofcos I'm not talking abt our walk with Gods going down all the way to the very start.

So in Narnia, Peter and the rest start over again to meet with danger & also rescue from God's deployment. They manage to get back their equipments and found support from the Narnians. But later to find that their enemies are already coming to wage war.

If some of you could still remember, in Getting Started book, one of the lesson we learned is to build our foundation in a repetitive way. So rebuilding back our faith or spirituality are not a day event. It is thru repretitive action in praying, bible reading, seeking, fasting, etc...

So feeling a bit of the presence of God (getting back of equipments) or contribute to the ministry work (Narnians) will not changed us totally, but bit by bit, day by day we will be strong in our spiritual lives.

But most of the time, problems or obstacles will start to come when we are getting back on track with God. Reason very simple. Satan will not want as to have any chances to go back near to God for even a single day.

So when we are not spiritually strong yet and problems comes, we tends to go back to our worldly oldself of taking matters into own hands then keep on seeking God, due to the lack of faith. And thats is why we are back to the start point to redo the whole obstacles again.

So Peter & the Narnians prepare for a surprise attack in the night at their enemies without waiting for Aslan. By looking at what Peter said at the scene tells how much he had been drawn away by the world. Peter said: We have waited for Aslan long enough for His return.

Think back, the words he said may sounds bad & heartbreaking if Aslan heard it. But never did we know, we are also doing so when we start to act to the situation or taking things into our own hands without seeking or considering God in the situation.

So the story continues by showing Peter and the Narnians was being defeated by their enemies once again. It was a strong blow to the faith & morale.

Again it was another classic scene coming up..
After every defeat, the devil will try to speak discouragement or lie to us again that we are nobody or gd for nothing. Negative thoughts always swelling up in our minds to give up in our walk with God.

So Peter, back at Aslan's How was approached by the White Witch (Satan) to go back to his worldly ways. He hesitated and his faith starts to waver. But God is good, He never fails to provide us a way to overcome the problems we faced. On Peter's hand, was his sword and he could attack the White Witch, but he didn't. So Edmund shatters the ice wall and destorying the Witch.

Notice i mention that Peter has the sword in his hand and to me, it represents the Word of God (Double edged sword). So we do have the ability to attack or overcome the problems, but we are so caught up in the nagative things till we forgot that we had the weapon to destory the problems.

This whole story are too long..
I think it should be enough for the moment.
